WALTHAM, MA - X.HLP
Inc., developer of an e-learning platform that accelerates the
adoption of critical software applications across the enterprise,
today announced that ABN AMRO, the eighth largest bank in Europe and
the seventeenth largest in the world based on tier 1 capital, has
achieved a significant time savings in delivery of its new logistics
application training, thanks to the launch of an online learning program
constructed and deployed with the X.HLP Adaptive Learning Platform.
The need for training arose when implementing a new logistics system
for the management and distribution of software components in ABN
AMRO's IT department. The new logistics system fits the bank's aspiration
to achieve faster and more unambiguous application development and
is the result of more than two years' work. The training phase of
the implementation formed the tail of the project.
Jan Boef, System Designer at ABN AMRO Bank, describes how the X.HLP
suite of products is used at ABN AMRO, "The principle aspects
of the X.HLP software can be learned within two days. After this short
training period, a person can build simulations for Computer Based
Training. It gives specialists in a certain area the tools to build
simulations in order to train the end-users themselves. They can control
the development and maintenance of the CBT personally, thereby achieving
more flexibility and speed in knowledge acquisition."
Boef adds, "X.HLP also gives the end-users just-in-time support
when they start using the new application. This is done through help
functions via pop-up screens. Therefore, the productivity in using
the application is increased and consequently requests to the helpdesk
and the trainers are reduced. In addition, our trainers save a great
deal of time as we can develop teaching material ourselves. This gives
more control and prevents the transfer problems associated with outsourcing.
The result is a shorter overall development time."
Øyvind Lundgreen, CEO of X.HLP worldwide comments, "Organizations
are increasingly identifying that effective training can ensure the
success of a mission-critical software application rollout. ABN AMRO,
like all X.HLP customers, has witnessed first-hand, the dramatic impact
on productivity that a solid training and performance support system
can deliver. ABN AMRO's success underlines the benefits of a rapid
and easily implemented X.HLP solution."
The X.HLP Adaptive Learning Platform allows the rapid creation of
media-rich, interactive, learning object-based training courses and
testing. The X.HLP Adaptive Learning Platform also re-uses learning
objects to create a powerful performance support system that allows
users to quickly access post-training support content. In addition,
the X.HLP Adaptive Learning Platform provides automated integration
to Learning Management Systems, following the AICC and ADL SCORM standards.
