Grand Rapids, MI -- Summit
Training Source, a safety and environmental training innovator
for more than 22 years, recently helped the U.S. Department of State
and the U.S. Air Force meet critical safety training requirements.
"Summit has spent the past two decades helping businesses enhance
safety, health and environmental training initiatives," said
Valerie Overheul, President and CEO of Summit. "We're pleased
to have the opportunity to apply the best practices we've developed
in the private sector to the challenges faced by government agencies." Previous government customers have included the FBI, The Veterans
Administration, The US Department of Agriculture, The US Navy, and
even OSHA itself. An approved vendor to government agencies, as well
as a certified WBE enterprise, Summit's GSA Contract number is GS-02F-9314.
The United States State Department engaged Summit Training Source
to develop department-wide, multiple translations of three core video-based
safety programs. Personal Protective Equipment, Ladder Safety, and
Compressed Gas Cylinders will be made available in Spanish, French,
Russian, Portuguese, German, Arabic, and Mandarin Chinese. Summit,
which routinely performs program customizations and translations,
was well suited to meet the State Department's stringent quality demands
and budget requirements.
In working with the United States Air Force, Summit built on the
success of its previous driver safety programs to provide a driver
safety program aimed specifically at young Airmen. Summit has had
tremendous success with driver safety initiatives, developing a program
that helped one Summit customer reap an $800,000 rebate on its insurance
premiums.
The Air Force's Education and Media Division at the Air Force Safety
Center at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico, selected Summit
Training Source to provide a comprehensive Driver Safety package designed
to teach techniques and awareness essential to safe driving. This
program also provides supervisors the skills necessary to instill
safe driving practices in their staff members. Summit recently released
Street Smart, a series adapted from the driving programs developed
for the Air Force, which is available to any organization in the public
or private sector.
Summit Training Source produces safety, health and environmental
training in multiple formats, including video, Summit Trainingweb
Online courses, Peak Training Interactive CD-ROMs, and the Summit
Power Disc classroom training tools.
