Fenton, MO -- Maritz Inc. (www.maritz.com)
today announced the launch of its newest business unit, Maritz
Learning (www.maritzlearning.com).
The creation of the new business unit underscores Maritz' commitment
to Maritz customers to expand its custom training solutions business
and its e- learning capabilities, recently added through the acquisition
of Librix Learning. Maritz Learning designs and delivers training
and development programs that improve the business performance of
sales and service organizations.
Steve Maritz, CEO of Maritz Inc., commented: "This new business
unit further broadens Maritz' capacity to help our customers worldwide
improve the performance of the people who directly impact business
results: their employees and sales people as well as the people in
their channels of distribution. It also positions Maritz to tap into
the vast opportunities presented by the e-learning marketplace."
"We believe that over time Maritz Learning will redefine the
concept of 'blended learning' in the training/e-learning market,"
said Brian Carlin, President of Maritz Learning. "Maritz Learning
blends learning content, technology and services with proven performance
improvement methodologies and measurements, business research capabilities
and awards and incentives expertise. The breadth of Maritz Learning's
content, technology and expertise is unprecedented in this industry."
Maritz Learning combines the resources of the Maritz Learning Systems
group, which specialized in custom instructor-led, video and CD-ROM
training, and the recently acquired Librix Learning, known for its
industry-leading learning management system and custom e-learning
expertise. Maritz Learning's clients include companies such as Anheuser-Busch,
Boeing, A.G. Edwards, Minolta, HON Industries and the National Restaurant
Association. As part of Maritz Inc., Maritz Learning is positioned
to leverage the resources of a $1.3 billion, century-old organization.
Carlin contends that there are actually three levels of blended learning.
At a most basic level, blended learning involves the mixing and matching
of learning delivery techniques best suited for the participants,
as well as for the type and purpose of the learning event. The second
level of blended learning integrates technology and techniques for
tracking and measuring training and performance that enable organizations
to better align enterprise learning initiatives with business objectives.
Carlin adds that, "Our third level takes learning well beyond
the capabilities of most learning and training companies who simply
mix training delivery media. Like no other company, we can integrate
learning initiatives with an overall performance improvement strategy
that leverages decades of experience in helping organizations improve
the knowledge and skills of the people who sell to and service their
customers."
Carlin explains that what truly differentiates Maritz Learning is
the ability to a provide a total solution that encompasses a company's
brand alignment, market research, customer satisfaction initiatives
and incentive programs to increase the impact of learning and drive
business results.
