Fenton, MO -- Maritz
Learning, a leading provider of custom training, e-learning and
performance management solutions, today announced several new customer
engagements that have commenced in recent months. These engagements
include new contracts from existing customers, such as Nabisco and
Caterpillar, as well as new customers such as Sprint, McCain Foods,
Russell Reynolds and others in the automotive, hospitality and financial
services sectors. Under the new agreements, signed during the quarter
ending June 30, Maritz Learning will provide a range of learning and
performance management services.
"Maritz made a commitment to its training business last year
with the launch of Maritz Learning," commented Brian Carlin,
President of Maritz Learning. "Despite a tough economic environment
hampered by cutbacks in business spending, the investment is clearly
paying off."
With its client base expanding, Maritz Learning's staff has doubled
in size since the business unit's launch in November 2001. The new
customer engagements also helped Maritz Learning exceed its revenue
goals for this period.
"The economy hasn't changed the underlying trends that are driving
the need for corporate learning, such as the demand for ever-quicker
product roll-outs or the pressure to increase shareholder value,"
Carlin continued. "Plus, the content, techniques and technology
organizations use to train their workforces are still catching up
to the transition we experienced over the past decade to a knowledge-driven
economy."
In several of the new customer engagements, Maritz Learning will
develop and deliver custom sales and customer service training, both
in instructor-led and e-learning formats. For one engagement, Maritz
Learning joins forces with sister business unit, Maritz Research,
in an innovative approach to using customer satisfaction research
to analyze the performance of customer service representatives and
prescribe training to improve areas of deficiency. This engagement
and several others include the deployment of Maritz Learning's LIBRIX
Performance Management System, a web-based system that helps
businesses improve organizational and individual performance by managing
learning and competency management capabilities across the extended
enterprise.
