Fenton, MO - Maritz Learning (www.maritzlearning.com),
a leading provider of custom training, e-learning and performance
management and improvement solutions, today announced a new management
team. Launched November 27 as a new business unit of Maritz Inc.,
a $1.3 billion global provider of performance improvement, research
and travel services, Maritz Learning develops and delivers training
and development programs that improve the business performance of
sales and service organizations.
Brian Carlin, who leads Maritz Learning as President, brings two
decades of experience in the software development industry. Carlin
most recently served as president, CEO and chief technology officer
of Librix Learning, a provider of e-learning services and technology
that Maritz acquired last month. Since 1995, Carlin has been involved
with clients in designing, developing and implementing learning solutions
and was the chief architect of the LIBRIX Performance Management System(tm),
a learning management system ranked highly for customer satisfaction
in a recent industry study. Prior to his role at Librix, Carlin led
Cornerstone Solutions Group, a software company he founded in 1989.
Kord Kutchins, who joins Maritz Learning's leadership as Vice President
of Strategic Solutions, served for the past year as division vice
president and director of Maritz Learning Systems. With a broad range
of experience in e-learning, corporate training and professional development
that included key roles with Analysis & Technology, EMC Corporation
and VSI Holdings, Kutchins most recently led the start-up company
Intrinsigo, a company he co-founded that specialized in delivering
interactive learning content on handheld computing devices.
Also joining the Maritz Learning management team are Scott Matthews,
Vice President of Marketing and Communications, and Chuck Aranda,
Vice President of Sales. Matthews, who directed Librix Learning's
marketing and business development activities before its acquisition
by Maritz, has worked in the technology industry for 20 years, including
7 years with Apple Computer. In 1994 Matthews and Aranda co-founded
Infosource, Inc., which merged with Cornerstone Solutions Group in
1996 to develop and market learning management technology. Aranda,
also a 20-year veteran of the technology industry, played key marketing
and sales management roles with both Apple and IBM and most recently
served as Librix Learning's vice president of sales.
Steve Korbecki joins Maritz Learning's management team as Vice President
of Channel Sales. Over his past 12 years with Maritz, Korbecki has
held several sales and marketing management positions, working with
clients such as General Electric, Chrysler, Lucent and Mercury Marine.
Korbecki brings to Maritz Learning an expertise in developing company-wide
programs that improve business and employee performance through a
combination of communications and feedback, as well as rewards and
recognition systems.
Other key members of the Maritz Learning management team include
Donald Fogarty, Director of Research and Development, and Mark Peterman,
Vice President of Client Services. Serving as product manager with
Librix Learning for the past 3 years, Fogarty had previously spent
10 years with Boeing as a Flight Control Engineer specializing in
flight simulations. Before joining Maritz Learning, Peterman was Librix
Learning's director of client services. Peterman's experience also
includes management and engineering positions with Abbott Laboratories
and Monsanto.
"Maritz Learning has the opportunity for major expansion in
the training market because of its unparalleled level of expertise
and experience in improving business performance through learning
and performance improvement services," said Carlin. "I look
forward to helping our organization seize this opportunity. Moreover,
I'm delighted to be working with a management team that brings such
extensive experience and proven leadership in the learning and technology
sectors."
