November 1, 2001 London, UK -- Imparta has scooped three major industry awards for its business skills e-learning
software. This year Imparta won a Gold award from the Brandon-Hall.com "Excellence in E-Learning Awards", Lguide's "Editor's
Choice Award" and the "Generic Product of the Year" Award at the World Open Learning Conference and Exposition (WOLCE).
Imparta was also nominated for an Interactive Entertainment award
from British Academy of Film and Television Arts. Imparta's business
simulation software is fully available in the US and Europe. At the Brandon-Hall.com "Excellence in E-Learning Awards",
Imparta's "Business Kinetics" won a Gold award in the management/business
skills category. Business Kinetics is an e- learning program designed
for global brand communications agency J.Walter Thompson (JWT), to
build the business capabilities of client-facing staff. A generic
version of Business Kinetics is now available from Imparta, under
the title "Marketing
CoPilot"(tm). Imparta also received an "Editor's Choice Award" from "Lguide"
this autumn for its CoPilot(r) simulations. Lguide is the leading
independent reviewer of e-learning products, for subscribers, clients,
and organizations such as the American Society for Training and Development
(ASTD), The Conference Board, and "Online Learning" magazine. At this year's World Open Learning Conference and Exhibition, Imparta
picked up its third award. Strategy CoPilot(tm) was judged "Generic
Product of the Year", on the basis of its proven impact on users,
its innovativeness and its cost-effectiveness. Brandon-Hall.com Excellence in E-Learning Award Andy Fenning, JWT's Chief Learning Officer, said: "'Business
Kinetics' has proved to be of immense value to JWT Worldwide by providing
individuals with an engaging and memorable way to acquire relevant
knowledge on demand. We have achieved a massive, enterprise wide improvement
in an increasingly important
skillset - understanding business - in an incredibly short time." Richard Barkey, CEO of Imparta, said: "'Business Kinetics' shows
why immersive simulations are the future of e-learning. But even the
best learning tool is only a means to an end. What makes us especially
proud is the impact the product has had on JWT's business, and the
superb cooperation between JWT and Imparta that
has made this possible." In Business Kinetics, JWT staff learn how the core concepts and principles
of marketing, finance and business strategy are interrelated in strategic
marketing decisions. They gain accelerated experience of applying
this knowledge in a 'virtual business', using Imparta's unique simulation
software with real- time adaptive coaching by a virtual mentor. Lguide Editor's Choice Award "Lguide" offers in-depth authoritative analysis of e-learning
products and services. Using a rigorous methodology for assessing
web-based training, Lguide has reviewed over 2000 products to date. Mike Flanagan, Lguide Vice President of Research and Consulting,
said of Imparta's Strategy CoPilot(r): "This interactive simulation
is the most robust we've seen. There is a clear, logical connection
between your actions and the resulting effects, and the scenario is
very open - there's no sense that you're being taken down a prescribed
path. In addition, the mentor character gives you helpful, intelligent
advice in a down- to-earth fashion. Imparta's strategy simulation
is an excellent teaching tool." WOLCE Generic Product of the Year Award WOLCE awards celebrate outstanding achievement by those at the cutting
edge of open, distance and e-learning. The judging panel consists
of experts from the British Association for Open Learning, the Forum
for Technology, the University for Industry and independent learning
specialists. BAFTA Nomination The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) holds international
Interactive Entertainment Awards ceremonies each year to recognize
outstanding achievement in technology and creativity. The nomination
of "Strategy CoPilot" positions Imparta among elite company,
with other nominees including CNN,
BBC News, Disney, Celador and Sony. About Imparta Imparta is a
